I’m Rachel Stewart.

I’m a Whanganui farm gal who left the awa, and then came home. I am made up of mud, eel slime, freshly-cut hay, bird feathers, dog hair, and grit.

I’ve been a train driver, a musterer for hire, an agri-politico, a private investigator, and columnist.

I used to write for the Taranaki Daily News, Manawatu Standard and New Zealand Herald. I also had a regular gig with NZ Fish and Game Magazine.

I love falconry, freshwater, and friends. Oh, and I take my dog everywhere. But my reason for breathing is writing. It’s what I do. It’s what I have to do.

I’d love you to come along for the ride. It’ll be a hoot. Promise.
