On Christmas Day 2016 I was interviewed by Derrick Jensen on his Resistance Radio. He’s an American legend.
Weird thing is that he contacted me asking for an interview, when the truth is that I would have sold my left ta-ta to do one with him. I have every book he’s ever written, and I credit him solely with turning me on to deep ecology and environmentalism. Get a hold of ‘A Language Older Than Words’ and blow your mind.
When I say ‘environmentalism’ I don’t mean safe green politics in the vein of the NZ Green Party with their wussy, hypocritical, SJW, neo-liberal sycophancy towards maintaining business as usual. Oh no.
I mean heavy-duty, radical environmentalism where one firmly grasps how humans are both killing themselves and every other living thing on the planet - and then actually tries to do something about it. He’s hardcore.
Anyway, we talk clean rivers, industrial agriculture, falconry and plenty of other interesting stuff.
I just gave it another spin and it’s a pretty good listen. If I say so myself. Enjoy.
Very good interview...thanks for respining it 😁
What do you think of the government taking over the management of the waterways? I'm skeptical about everything now, because I've been on this planet for 63 years and seen too much greed and corruption. I admit that I'm cautiously optimistic about this, though, but not sure if that's just because it's taking water management out of the hands of regional councils, and that has to be a good thing.
