Re your civil war reference, I agree. If that last government had won, I think there was a powder keg that would have gone off. I don't know what the expression of that would have been. And fixing all the harm they did is going to take a decade or more.
I believe the silent majority are starting to say No and the progressives are about to be in the fight for their lives. We just all have to keep pushing back slowly but steadily. Flicked an email off about Phillipa to the new PM.
The Electoral Commission put out its report today and much of it was well written and reasonable whilst hiding its true progressive aims eg: The UN says we must so we will, the 2022 activist court decision says we must so we will etc. The only mention in there that the vast majority were against raising the Age to 16 for example was some euphemistic reference to (cant remember exact words but something along the lines of) a somewhat majority opposed.
Interestingly enough in the whole document there is no specific analysis of the many thousands of public submissions. I'm off to write to relevant Ministers about the need for an addendum to the report reflecting what the 70 odd thousand? submitters had to say.
I think we should all lobby for a statistical analysis of consultation docs to be attached with every issue coming up for review, submission and recommendation. We have to cold bloodedly keep upping the anti until politicians get the message that the people of NZ (particularly the women of NZ) will not be ignored.
