Haha - I have spent Christmas Day on my own, too, on occasions. I can't be bothered going to other people's family Christmases, because ...... you know, good behaviour and all that. With my own family anything goes, even though I'm hardly what you'd call a riot :-) As a single, child-free woman, I have to be careful not to let anyone know that I'll be on my own on Christmas Day, if it happens that way, otherwise they'll either feel obligated to invite me to theirs out of pity, or pity the hell out of me when they find out I spent Christmas Day on my own. I guess that makes me curmudgeonly, too. What I have really enjoyed about getting older, is the freedom to be whatever I want to be, as well as the delicious feeling of disapproval rolling right off me :-)
Longest day of the year in the southern hemisphere! :) Also Your Christmas Day sounds awesomely relaxing. Not sure about the cups of tea though. Give me a glass of bubbles with those egg sandwiches. Your dreidel is in the post.
