I'll be your second. I'm a 76 year-old XX chromosome woman and past scientific researcher and I'm tired of all the hooha over what is a simple matter. I've enjoyed your articles for years and am firmly in the "Either you're a good writer or you're not" camp.

Go, Rachel.

Hi Aroha. How nice of you. And it sure is a simple matter, and you know this better than most.

Thank you sincerely for your support. R

I'm generally not one to support gay people because I believe that our rate of reproduction is so low that we are in danger of losing our heritage, not because of any moral concepts. I'm an old, white, heterosexual male, married 54 years, 3 kids , 10 grandchildren. However I too believe in Free speech & detest the WOKE/CANCEL culture adhered to by all those "liberal" lefties. So I look forward to hearing your thoughts, as soon as you tell me how I can get a paid subscription. Best, Gary

Gary, with all due respect, it’s not gay people who are losing our heritage. Most gays and straights are in this together.

We are fighting against a far greater foe: post-modern ideology hothoused in the academy that has in turn cultivated itself in the media; plus mainstream conversations… not to mention educational discourse. BTW, I agree with you on most of the above that you write, just not the blaming of the gays for low reproduction . I didn’t have any kids, and I’m a boring old hetero

Thank you Gary. Trust me, I won't be wittering on about being gay! And, yes, free speech is crucial.

I'll be back in touch. R

I didn't think you would.

hello Rachel

I think I have pledged a sub some time ago waiting for you to do the phoenix act lol. Not interested in your sexual orientation!!! That is your personal decision not to be judged by the avaricious and sanctimonious (I am wearing out my dictionary here) society we live in!!! I am interested in your experiences and no BS views though, which can give me another perspective to the ones that I hold. I totally agree about not adding to the rabble!!! BUT good things come to those that wait and I believe the noise in our communication channels is dying down from lack of authenticity, which leaves some room for sensible, no BS dialogue lol. I have a long history in the dairy industry among other things. and welcome a vision of what can be achieved instead of doom and depair!!! highest regards Monette

Hi Monette.

Yes, my "phoenix act" has taken far too long, and I'm not interested in my sexual orientation either! It really just made for a quirky title - you know, 'Memoirs of a Geisha'.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy my essays, and I'm always interested in feedback. Thanks. R

SOO relieved to read that you 'won't be wittering on about being gay'. (having said that, I love the potential title ) Put me down for a slice of your excellent no bullshit writing whenever your muse makes you do it.

Cheers, Toni. I reckon it is a pretty good title too.

Thanks for the support. R

I’m happy to donate NZ $100 to get you started but yer money machine won’t accommodate me. Do I need to send you notes in a brown paper envelope?

Hi Roy.

I love $$ in brown envelopes but I'll sort it for you.

How are you?

All good here but could do with some sunshine.

I think you are wonderful, Rachel because you call it how it is. There is not enough of this today - our country (and the Western World) seems to be too full of propagandists, cowards and non-thinkers. So go you WOMAN you!

I'll be your first paid subscriber - says every enthusiast who mysteriously disappears when they actually have to front up with some dosh - lol! I shall do my best not to be a 'mystery disappearer' because I reallyreallyreally want to read your stories.

You, Katrina, are the catalyst for this! You suggested self-publishing to me some months ago and it stayed in my head. So it's all YOUR FAULT!

I hope you enjoy the essays, and thanks for believing in me. Sincerely.

Me and your missus make a good team - lol!!!

Sorry, didn’t mean to suggest it’s their fault at all. They’re just a little part of the problem. I agree with you. I really meant to write “culture” not “heritage”. Each women must average 2.1 children because some people have none.
